What’s will it cost?
Attorneys provide services. Those services include preparing documents (e.g., wills, trusts, contracts) and time for handling your particular matter. Time spent on strategy, meeting, reviewing, talking and going to court has to be billed hourly.
As a solo attorney I try to keep my overhead low and offer competitive rates for attorneys in this area and for my experience.
How long will it take?
The classic lawyer answer is - it depends. I can only control what I do. When I have to deal with a Judge, a court or opposing counsel I cannot control my time.
Follow up questions from the client is also time spent providing services. I do my best to be efficient and communicate that to you.
Why come to see you?
Meeting face-to-face is the best way to develop the rapport necessary for the parties to understand each other and what is to be expected. It is far too easy to look at a website, e-mail, text or talk over the phone without taking the time to really get to know someone.
It is best to have a meeting at the start so that we are on the same page.
