Background

Kevin Dorhout was born in the Midwest where he learned the prized ethics of hard work, fairness and genuinely listening to the concerns of his clients when providing legal services.

Mr. Dorhout graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Santa Clara University with a degree in Political Science.  It was during an internship with a Santa Clara County Supervisor’s Office that Mr. Dorhout learned the value and importance of local government, fair legal representation and the commitment to serve.  Mr. Dorhout then went on to earn his Law Degree from Santa Clara University.

Mr. Dorhout started his legal career in the field of labor relations and employment law before moving to Ventura in 1995 where he worked at the District Attorney’s Office prosecuting misdemeanor trials, land use violations, weights and measures matters and fraud cases.  After almost four years of valuable training and trial experience at the District Attorney's Office, Mr. Dorhout went into civil practice.

Working at law firms starting in Oxnard, then Ventura and then in Westlake Village he represented clients in the areas of employment, business, real estate, estate planning and probate litigation. 

Mr. Dorhout, individually or as co-counsel, took civil matters to trial or through settlement. 

In 2011, Mr. Dorhout opened his own practice focusing primarily in the areas of real estate and business with matters involving unlawful detainer, failure to disclose in real estate transactions, business disputes, homeowners' associations along with matter involving family law and probate.

Mr. Dorhout is a long-time resident of Thousand Oaks with his wife and their two children.
